I’m actually a weirdly big fan of Kiiara since Gold. I’m just a sucker for the sparse simple baseline and the manipulated vocals, get that combination right and I’m instantly captivated.
Sensual with just the right amount of explicit lines which just make it sound cheekier. Nice slow mellow tempo, perfect from grinding.
Another radio hit from Drizzy and Khaled, man these two are unbeatable in what they do. Every link up between them sounds like a hit and even though this doesn’t have a traditional hook in that way it’s still memorable and plenty of fun, it’s a good thing Asahd finally pushed Drake for them vocals, hey.
Super satisfying song, love the juxtaposition between the soft strummed acoustic guitar verses and the heavy synths on the chorus. I’m a huge fan of this effect and this song caught me by surprise.
I’m pretty impressed by Lana Del Rey’s new songs more so than I was by Ultraviolence, maybe it’s the simplicity behind each track or maybe it’s the new space-y sound which has currently underlined her last 2 songs, either way I’m pretty transfixed.
King Kenny is back!
Going from the strength of the The Heart Pt. 4 to humble to this Drama album, Kendrick is on a roll reminding us of just what he can do with his lyrical aerobatics. He doesn’t approach this one in an overly technical manor but somehow manages to channel his emotion a lot better to create an intense but deeply enjoyable experience.
LOYALTY with Rihanna is one hell of a gem, Rihanna’s flow is kinda sick she might be completing for best verse on the album, hey. The track with U2 also doesn’t suck which was a huge fear of mine ever since the tracklist was released but they pulled it off, King Kenny reigns again.
Key Tracks: ELEMENT. LOYALTY. DUCKWORTH.
Frankie O returns. Gotta see both sides like Chanel
