After a 5 year hiatus the world’s greatest (virtual) band is back…almost. In an interview with DIY magazine when asked about the Gorillaz Jamie Hewlett revealed that the new album is expected to be released next year in 2016 in a short and sweet confirmation stating “That’s next year”. Jamie also shone the light on his creative approach to this new project stating “I’m working on it at the moment, and it’s going very well. I’m very excited. I don’t want to say too much about it, but I’m at that phase of experimentation.”

Jamie also talked about his new exhibition which will also be his first. The exhibition is due to open to the public on the 18th November and will be open until 2nd December in London’s Saatchi Gallery. God knows we’re ecstatic to see this exhibition and will be there one way or another.

For more information and to preview some of the works from the exhibition check out his website here.
