This week Microsoft announced it’s new phones the Lumia 950 and 950XL both very distinguished designed to compete with Apple’s iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.

The Lumia 950 comes with a 5.2″ AMOLED screen of WQHD resolution, Snapdragon 808 SoC hexa-core chipset, 3GB of RAM, and a 20 Megapixel back camera. Whilst its bigger brother the Lumia 950XL comes with a 5.7″ WQHD AMOLED screen a Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset,  3GB of RAM and also a 20MP back camera with ZEISS Optics.

These are some really good phones, basically.

Both phones can charge up to 50% of battery capacity with 30 minutes according to Microsoft and they can both be connected to a monitor, mouse and keyboard and used like a PC through Microsoft’s new Windows Continuum feature.

Here in the UK the Lumia 950 will retail for £499.99 SIM-free and the 950XL will be £549.99 SIM-free so they’re both cheaper than the Apple phones for those who feel like balling on a budget. Both Phones are expected in November so if you’re looking for an alternative to Android and iOS then keep an eye out for these two.
